Provincial Response Level: Critical (Red)
As our province has gone “Red”, Westman Evaluation and Rehab remains open and continues to adhere to all the standard guidelines for prevention of virus transmission from Phase 1 and 2. All has gone well to date and staff would like to thank all our clients who have ventured out into this new world bravely!!
After reading all the below information, we encourage you to click the link below and watch a very interesting YouTube video by Mark Rober, past NASA engineer, re germs. The Covid-19 pandemic has been challenging to one degree or another for everyone. Although one of the THE MOST IMPORTANT TAKE AWAYS FROM THIS VIDEO is Mark’s statement between 6:43 and 7:04, watch the video from the start to the 8:13 mark.

The booking schedule remains at Phase 2 format to ensure proper distancing and cleaning protocol between clients. Physiotherapy, Athletic Therapy and Massage Therapy services continue. Please arrive at the First Street Plaza no sooner than 5 minutes before your scheduled appointment. Wait lines which were supposed to be indoors during Orange or lower have had to move outside due to level Red.
Another NEW CHANGE beginning April 26, 2012: All visitors to The First Street Plaza including clients of Westman Rehab can now enter the building by both sets of doors facing South (the parking lot) as well as the North doors (from McTavish Ave). Once you come into the building you will see hand sanitizers; please use. There is large signage for self-screening (eg. of some questions below). PLEASE DO NOT ATTEND IF FEELING UNWELL. Those who require the elevator should enter via the South doors nearest First Street and use the elevator across from Kim’s Asian Restaurant. After leaving Westman Rehab you may go to either stairwell at each end of the corridor and exit First Street Plaza by any of the three exits mentioned above.
MASKS STILL MUST BE WORN WHENEVER GOING TO THE BRANDON CLINIC/FIRST STREET PLAZA.
In addition, and unfortunately, all parking on the premises is pay-parking. This includes the small parking area on the immediate, south side of the First Street Plaza which has been designated handicap and expectant mothers only!! All others can park in the larger lot, adjacent to and just to the south of the small lot. Metered, street parking is also still available. Entrance to the pay-lot is off Dennis Street where you attain your ticket (for payment upon leaving). BRING YOUR PARKING TICKET WITH YOU WHEN YOU ATTEND FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT AT WESTMAN EVALUATION AND REHAB and we will provide you a voucher to use with your ticket so that your parking fee will be validated (paid for) by Westman Rehab.
FINALLY…if you are being dropped off for your therapy appointment, your driver has 20 minutes after entering through the Dennis Street pay-parking lot gates to do so and can exit without charge; just insert the gate ticket to raise the arm.

STANDARD GUIDELINES TO PREVENT THE SPREAD OF COVID-19 IN PUBLIC LOCATIONS
Common and practical routines can ensure that patrons, clients, visitors and staff remain safe and feel safe in public spaces. This includes:
• staying home when experiencing symptoms, even if symptoms are very mild;
• ensuring people are able to reasonably maintain two metres of distance;
• only conducting necessary and brief exchanges within two metres of others;
• applying enhanced cleaning protocols, especially in common areas like washrooms;
• maintaining social (physical) distancing and food handling protocols in workplace areas including lunch and common areas; and
• following individual risk reduction measures found at http://www.gov.mb.ca/covid19/prepareandprevent/index.html#reducerisk.
Again, should you have any questions regarding the above, your therapy or if you need some review of any exercises or education, just drop us an email at westmanrehab@mymts.net or give us a call.
James and staff continue to wish everyone good health in the weeks to come. We thank you for your cooperation and understanding at this time.
